Shropshire Council has finally published the Local Plan which outlines what land will be allocated to housing in our communities.
We need:
l Some housing - our school, surgery, shop, pub, village hall and our community generally needs families to keep these services alive.
l We need 2 and 3 bedroom family homes and smaller bungalows to buy or rent for local people.
l We need a maximum of 30 houses.
l We need any development to deliver a safe pavement between the village and the shop, school and surgery.

Despite the community vote, Shropshire Council has forced Brockton and Worthen to become a 'hub'. This means we have to accept open market housing which often means larger 4/5 bedroomed houses with larger profits for developers.

Originally the plan was to be 30 open market houses, with some affordable housing included. Now another 25 have been added (making a total of 55!) and includes the unpopular site next to Millfield House turned down by the planning inspector. This will open up the possibility of even more housing on this site - above the extra 25. Have your say from 3rd August. I will send out a a link on how to do so as soon as one becomes available.
